Why Give?
Central WV Community Action, Inc. helps improve lives and strengthen the community. We care about the entire community, and are dedicated to serve families and individuals to promote long-term self-sufficiency and independence. Your financial donation will help us run our programs with the mission of ending poverty in our community.
Many of the families we serve have simply gotten into an emergency crisis and need temporary assistance. It takes an average of $500 to help stabilize a family in immediate crisis so that they can begin working toward self-sufficiency. At Central WV Community Action, Inc. we believe in helping those in crisis meet their most pressing need and then providing them with programs and resources to become self-sufficient. Programs through Case Management offer budgeting services, job preparation, housing assistance, and so much more. Through our Food to Freedom program we are able to help families regain their independence so food assistance is no longer a necessity and through our Head Start preschool program we ensure that a child's learning is never impacted or deterred by the financial hardships their family may be temporarily facing.
Your support ensures that our programs expand to help even more in Harrison, Lewis, Gilmer, and Ritchie Counties. Together, we can do so much to strengthen the lives in our community.
